There’s a crisp chill in the air and piles of brown, brittle leaves grouped around trees with knotted branches that resemble the claws of ghoulish monsters reaching out to snatch unwitting passersby on their way to festive holiday celebrations. Scampering through the streets from house to house, children disguised as everything from superheroes to vampires knock on doors that are opened to the sound of little voices shouting the innocent threat, “Trick-or-treat!” It’s a time for scary movies, bobbing for apples, sharing ghost stories and consuming handful after handful of candy. It’s time for Halloween!
